About

Please note that this site is in-progress or some would call it Beta. Hence while I am figuring a few things out some experimental publishing is being done. What is below is a current rough sketch of this blog.

This blog is devoted to helping our Selves/selves find a practicing of bringing the Divine into our everyday living.  At it’s finest it is the applied art and science of being Divine and understanding through experience just how accessible this is to anyone that wishes to cultivate such skills in very practical ways. The current working mantras of Practical Divinity are

  • Bring the Divine home (into and through you) and make it your own.
  • Being “All about that Grace”.
  • Miracles are for everyone, they are the norm, not the exception – especially when you learn what to look for.

Important note to remember here is that this is not about driving yourself crazy and carrying any of this out to perfection or being a perfect person.  It is about practicing relatively simple habits until we become the form of how we wish to move through life naturally and without striving for perfection but rather just to be in our natural born peace, grace, happiness which when recognized and cultivated in our selves naturally extends to others.

What is practical divinity?  Practical Divinity is the art and science of the daily practices of being that gives rise to witnessing, creating and partaking in the miraculous and miracles found in every day life.  It is akin to practical magic but it is better stated as practical miraculousness and is steeped with the faith that the Universe is on our side and has our backs in all that we set forth to do and this is impetus enough to understand the necessity of setting forth with sincere, thoughtful conscious intention.  As the universe will have our backs and be on our side even when we thoughtlessly and unconsciously set forth intentions.  The saying be mindful of your thoughts, words and deeds is more than just a saying, and rather is an imperative guidepost and forewarning as the crux upon which we either create miracles or misery in our life.

So the truth is that practical divinity can and will look like a variety of things and take on a lot of different forms and even look different for different people.  Though the fundamental premise of practical divinity is learning how to incorporate the Divine flow into your thoughts, words and deeds via daily practical practices to a point that a Divine response becomes your first natural response to anything you encounter, create, or dissolve and have it be so the majority of time if not all of the time and in every day living of your life.

Is it an art or a science?  Truthfully it is both.  The art is finding a way to make it your own.  The science is to experiment with concepts and learning how to draw down the Divinity of lofty concepts so that that flow through you and into your thoughts, words and deeds.

But what is it REALLY? Well, we read all these wonderful quotes out there, you see them posted on Facebook, Instagram, etc.  and you love them.  Some strike you as funny. or resonate with discomfort and so on. Though just beyond is the question how do we get the sage wisdom of such quotes to work in our daily life?  So one thing we will do is take inspirational quotes and break them down into pieces that help us build practical skills for living the quote.  Similarly, practical divinity can come up in our experiences of nature, cooking, doing housework, in spending quality time with friends and family, in sad, funny, inspirational, surprising stories we hear.  We’ll have a chance over time to see how we can find practical divinity in such things and bring the Divine home to our hearts, and incorporate it within our Selves/selves and build skills and strategies for being in the Divine flow of and being “all about that Grace”.
